Buffalo Braves From A to Z
The Buffalo Braves of the NBA may be gone, but they aren’t forgotten. Authors Budd Bailey and Greg D. Tranter bring the team back to life, at least in literary form, with their book, “Buffalo Braves From A to Z.” It’s a thorough examination of the team’s history from 1970 to 1978, and contains biographies of all 71 players and 12 front office figures who were crucial parts of the team’s story. The book contains year-by-year descriptions of the team’s play, as well as descriptions of Buffalo’s basketball history and the team’s homes. The Braves played a style of basketball that would have fit in nicely with today’s game, with its emphasis on ball movement and offense. The team featured such familiar names as Bob McAdoo, Randy Smith, Ernie DiGregorio and Adrian Dantley. The book captures their era perfectly.
